CUSTODIAN I - HRLY

STARTING PAY
$15.00/hr.
SUMMARY
Working with minimum supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining Golf Course clubhouse inside and the area immediately surrounding the outside. Also responsible for cleaning the satellite restrooms and buildings on the golf course. Perform minor repairs to buildings as needed. This position will be required to work shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime as necessary by the department, and during inclement weather. This position is considered weather essential personnel.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sweeps, mops, and waxes tile floor covering.
  • Vacuums all carpets
  • Cleans walls when needed
  • Cleans windows (inside and out) and blinds regularly
  • Empties trash (inside and out) daily
  • Cleans tables in deli
  • Washes porch area daily or as needed
  • Keeps towel and tissue paper dispensers filled
  • Changes light bulbs
  • Keeps on course facilities cleaned in same manner as clubhouse and surrounding grounds.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of one year of custodial experience
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Must be flexible in meeting the varying schedules and may be required to work additional hours and split shifts when necessary.
KNOWLEDGE
  • Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets.
  • Keep supply closet orderly
  • Change filters in AC and heater units
  • Ability to properly use cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops etc.
  • Proper sanitization of restrooms and all touchable areas that the public may contact
  • Stay informed of the calendar of tournaments to plan for any potential scheduling changes or information regarding the golfing events
SKILLS
  • Must be friendly and personable with co-workers and the public
  • Must have strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to interpret, understand, follow instructions, and solve problems
  • Keep all work areas clean to ensure a safe environment for the public
ABILITIES
  • Ability to work well with others as a team member to promote a friendly and safe work environment
  • Assist in miscellaneous duties as required by golf shop staff
  • Keep good inventory of supplies for day-to-day operations
  • At all times, be presentable, well-groomed and in appropriate work attire
